The Gulf Coast Liver Disease Support Group will meet on the 4th
Thursday of each month and is open to all adult liver disease
patients and their families. A presentation by physicians, nurses
and other allied health personnel will open each meeting, followed
by ample time for interaction amoung the participants so that we
can all learn from each other's experiences. Refreshments will be

and affected by Hep C. We meet every first Monday of the month at

Positive Action, represents 1,000 Rh negative
women who all received Hepatitis C through a contaminated blood
product Anti-D Immunoglobulin, which was made by the Irish State
run BTSB (blood bank). This is a product given to mothers with RH
negative blood when they have given birth to a RH-positive child to
prevent a blood incompatibility disorder. It is routinely given in
maternity hospitals and is given without consent being sought.
The first public indication of this tragedy became known in
February 1994 when the Irish Government announced a National
Screening Programme for 60,000 anti-D mothers. This began a major
testing process and so far 1,000 women have been identified as
having virus or antibodies to Hepatitis C. A vigorous legal,
political and public campaign to ensure people are held accountable
has inspired supporters to form the Positive Action group.
Also for those in Irelande, the Dublin Hepatitis C Support Group Meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Old Courthouse, Willbrook Road, Rathfarnham, at 8:30 p.m. Anyone HCV+ is welcome.
