Artichoke for Liver Ailments

"Artichoke is well known as a remedy for liver ailments. Therapy with artichoke extract is so important in phytotherapy that there is a complete therapy devoted to treatment by artichoke called "cynotherapy."

The article points out that artichoke must be avoided during nursing because it inhibits formation of mother's milk.

Recommendations for artichoke therapy include: "arteriosclerosis, cellulitis , liver conditions including jaundice and hepatitis, gout, obesity, diabetes and elevated cholesterol."
